I recently attempted to open an account with Coop Pank AS as an e-resident with an IT company. Despite having an existing account with another Estonian bank, my experience with Coop Pank was disappointing. The online form was non-functional, so I had to contact a manager directly and I briefly explained my business so it was clear that we're not working with the local market only. Nevertheless, I had to fill out a lengthy form and was also charged a 200 EUR fee. Ultimately, after a while and several follow-ups my application was rejected because Coop Pank works with clients focused on the local market only. This policy not clearly communicated initially on their website, and by their manager. This lack of clarity, combined with the fee for an ultimately unsuccessful application, made the experience particularly disheartening. The inclusion of Coop Pank in the e-Residency marketplace seems somewhat misleading, considering the global nature of many e-resident businesses.
