My experience with Wise has been extremely frustrating and unacceptable. What started as a verification concerning approximately €500 turned into a week-long process involving multiple support agents, repeated explanations, document submissions, and eventually the restriction of my account. The funds were an expense reimbursement from a company for legitimate business expenses I had personally paid on its behalf. Wise’s system repeatedly requested a personal Tax Return even though this was not salary, dividends, self-employment income, or other personal income. After several conversations, Wise Support explicitly instructed me to upload my Annual Report, invoices/receipts, personal bank/card statements, and written explanation through the Tax Return upload field. I followed those instructions exactly. A Wise representative then confirmed that all documents had been received, my submission was in the review queue, and the review would typically take one working day. Instead of receiving the result of that review, my account was restricted shortly afterwards. The restriction email provided no clear reason, and support told me they could not disclose the reason and that I now had to start a separate appeal process. I fully understand that financial institutions must conduct compliance checks. My complaint is about how poorly this process has been handled. I cooperated fully and followed Wise’s own instructions, yet every attempt to resolve one issue seems to create another. After a week of repeated conversations and submissions, this process has been slow, fragmented, inefficient, and deeply disappointing. My case remains unresolved. If Wise corrects the situation, I will update this review accordingly.
